A nice pad in London

Collas Crill UK Real Estate team has recently acted for a Jersey couple purchasing a fantastic pied a terre in South London.

This lovely 1 bed apartment is situated near to Forest Hill Station allowing excellent transport links into London Bridge, Waterloo, Victoria, Canada Water, Shoreditch, Whitechapel, Highbury & Islington. With just a short walk to various local amenities including a variety of restaurants, gastro pubs, coffee shops, cafes and beautiful Horniman Park and museum – it will be enjoyed by our client for many years, both as their London pad & initially providing accommodation for one of their sons.

The purchase was led by Anna Douglass, senior associate in our UK Real Estate Team.

Anna said, "The transaction came with many challenges typically experienced when dealing with leasehold properties, we had to deal with an inexperienced managing agent who struggled to provide clear replies to enquiries.  Our client was looking to use the Property by a specific date, and so we took the bull by the horns and managed the Seller's team to ensure that we got the information that we needed in good time – so that our client could stay in the Property."

Alexandra Paul, Senior Sales Consultant of Pedder Property, the Seller's estate agent also said, "Thank you for getting this through so quickly, you’ve been so helpful and one of the best solicitors I have had the pleasure of working with… You’ve always been so approachable to speak with – which is such a rarity!"

The client's reaction to successful completion was, "That is fantastic - thank you so much for all your help… you had such a frustrating time with the other side. We are very, very appreciative."

Michael Morris, head of UK Real Estate team said, "This transaction demonstrates the service that we are able to provide from our offices in Jersey and Guernsey to Channel Island residents buying, selling and financing properties in the UK.  Completion timetables can be challenging, but Anna pulled out all the stops to make sure that our client could move in on time."
