Collas Crill strengthens commercial property team with property consultant Shelagh Mason

Property expert Shelagh Mason will join Collas Crill as a consultant from Spicer & Partners (Guernsey) LLP  on 1 December.

Shelagh Mason has over 30 years' experience in the legal and property industries. She advises on all aspects of UK property and property development, construction, property portfolio and management and corporate and trustee property services. Shelagh also advises on commercial property matters and leasehold matters in Guernsey.

Collas Crill's property team, ranked top tier by legal market commentators the Legal 500, acted in most of the major commercial property transactions across the Bailiwick of Guernsey in the past ten years and has been involved in many of Jersey's most significant transactions.

Collas Crill's pan Channel Island UK real estate practice acts for Channel Islands resident UHNWs, banks, funds and trust companies investing in prime UK real estate. Collas Crill is the only Channel Island law firm able to advise in relation to UK property transactions and is the primary law firm on the lending panels of the Channel Island branches of a large number of banks who are actively lending into the UK.

Prior to moving to Guernsey in 1999, Shelagh was a senior partner at Edge Ellison. Shelagh established Mason & Co in 2001, which merged with Spicer & Partners in 2010.

Shelagh Mason said: "Following our merger in 2010 and a successful four years, David Harry is retiring to take on new challenges and we have decided to close Spicer & Partners. I am not yet ready to retire so am delighted to be joining the team at Collas Crill, which specialises in both Channel Island and UK property work. I will continue both to service the existing clients of Spicer & Partners and build on the combined strength of my expertise and  the wider support from the team at Collas Crill."

Jason Green, head of Property at Collas Crill, said: "Our UK Property team, led by group partner Michael Morris, has continued to go from strength to strength and it is the right time to develop that team further with the addition of Shelagh.

"We are committed to recruiting talented people to join our existing team, which has been recognised as a top tier practice. Shelagh has established credentials and is well known in the Channel Islands. She brings with her a wealth of experience, which will help continue to drive our real estate practice".
