Collas Crill supports purchase of Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation property

Collas Crill's UK Real Estate Team will provide free legal services for the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation for the charity's purchase of The Burrow; a property near Southampton Hospital.

Since November last year the Foundation has been fundraising for a second property for local families to use when their premature baby or critically ill child requires off-island treatment in Southampton.

The Foundation has now exceeded its target of £150,000 and is in the process of purchasing the property that will be within a short walking distance of Southampton Hospital, providing a safe haven for new parents or parents whose children are using the hospital. The property will open sometime next year.

The charity's current flat in Southampton has proved invaluable to many families but, as it was gifted and in constant demand, there was a need for the PPBF to secure a property of their own.

Collas Crill's team of UK property lawyers will advise the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation on the purchase of the UK property and will cover the conveyancing costs, all legal advice and pay any disbursements.

Collas Crill group partner and head of UK real estate, Michael Morris, said: "The Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation provides invaluable services to our island community and makes a genuine difference to the lives of families during what can be an incredibly difficult time.

"Collas Crill is committed to supporting charities within our community and we are proud to be able to support the Foundation and its work in this way through our legal expertise."

Jo Priaulx, co-founder of the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation, said: "Once The Burrow opens next year it will be an extremely important place for so many local families as it takes away the stress of finding accommodation at the last minute. It is a real pleasure to have Collas Crill involved in this project and we look forward to working with such a generous team. The journey doesn’t end here. Once the purchase has gone through, we will continue to fundraise for The Burrow’s furnishings, decoration and ongoing maintenance as well as equipment and ongoing support for the local neo-natal unit in Guernsey.”
