Collas Crill is thrilled to announce that our UK Real Estate Team has expanded into Jersey. Group Partner, Michael Morris has already made the move across the Channel and will now be based in our Jersey office.
Michael Morris initially established the UK Real Estate practice in Guernsey in 2011. Michael is described by Legal 500 as “a dedicated lawyer, who is willing to go the extra mile to complete a transaction”, and by clients as having “superb technical knowledge, down to earth, communicates effectively and very matter of fact”. He has the ability to “read a situation and know exactly how to handle it”.
He is supported by a well-respected and experienced team of five lawyers who are described as “approachable lawyers who are eager to do a good job and work collaboratively with their clients” and who bring City standards of service to the Channel Islands.
The breadth and depth of our UK Real Estate team’s experience enables us to assist with all aspects of UK property, including residential, commercial and financing from within the Channel Island. In addition to acting for clients buying and selling residential property across England & Wales, in 2015 the team acted for Channel Island lenders on in excess of £500m worth of loan transactions, secured on residential and commercial property across the UK.
The team have also acted on some significant commercial real estate transactions, including the sale of Black Lion House a 65,000-sq-ft mixed-use office building in the emerging creative quarter of Whitechapel, and financing Quay House, which is currently London's most anticipated development set to be the fourth largest skyscraper at 240m high.
