Overview

Charlotte is a commercial litigator, specialising in cross-border commercial litigation and contentious high-value insolvency.

Experience

Charlotte has particular experience advising on cross-border insolvencies, in part as a result of her work advising the joint liquidators of feeder funds to the Bernard L Madoff Investment Securities investment vehicle. Her insolvency experience includes applying for Court assistance on wide-ranging issues from assistance in foreign insolvency proceedings to the Court sanction of cross-border settlements. Charlotte also has experience in section 238 fair value appraisal proceedings, including acting for dissenting shareholders in 58.com Limited, eHi Car Services Ltd and Bitauto Holdings Limited.

Background

Prior to moving to the Cayman Islands, Charlotte worked as a Senior Associate in the litigation and dispute resolution team at Campbells in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). Charlotte trained as a solicitor at Macfarlanes in the City of London, qualifying in 2011 and practicing in England and Wales for a number of years, before moving to the BVI in 2016.

Charlotte qualified as a solicitor-advocate of the High Court of England and Wales in 2016.

Charlotte is a member of INSOL International and is currently a lecturer on INSOL's Foundation Certificate in International Insolvency Law.
